The Fighter (2010)

By Ahmed Al Kiremli

Movie Story

The Fighter is a drama about boxer Micky “Irish” Ward’s unlikely road to the world light welterweight title. Micky faces many troubles and struggles on his way to success. He has learned everything he knows from his brother Dicky, a boxer turned trainer, but at the same time, most of Micky’s troubles also stem from his brother’s drug and crimes problems. Micky’s mother and family also create problems for Micky’s focus in life and career success.

My Opinion

Based on a true story, the movie was generally sad and a little boring, especially at the beginning of the movie, but with time it got more interesting. Christian Bale was amazing as Dicky. You are not going to love the character because he has problems, but his performance was amazing.
The story is about the struggle for success. The end of the story is the best thing about the movie. It’s really a happy ending, and the way Dicky stands for his brother Micky is touching. I liked Amy Adams as Micky’s girlfriend. My prediction for this movie is that Christian Bale as Dicky will get the Oscar; he really deserves it for his acting performance.

(Rich Dad Poor Dad) by Robert T. Kiyosaki

A couple of weeks ago, I finished reading the book (Rich Dad Poor Dad) by Robert T. Kiyosaki. It is so powerful. I knew many of the mentioned subjects within the book, as I studied some of it before, but it was still so powerful because it was confirming what you know to yourself. It is a resource to add more information to the knowledge you have and motivate you to take a quicker action.

This book is a must read for the people who wants to be financially free. It contains advice on how to generate passive income to become rich or financially secured. This book can be the motivator to change your mind set and move towards new ideas that you never thought about. Some of the powerful things that I learned from this book are:-

1- Don’t work for money, but let the money work for you.

2- For most people the fear of losing was greater than the excitement of winning.

3- Most of the time, life does not talk to you, it just sort of pushes you around, each push is life saying (Wake up) there’s something I want you to learn.

4- A job is really a short-term solution to a long-term problem.

5- Learn to use your emotions to think, not think with your emotions. The author is so funny and powerful. This book is one that you will want to keep reading until you have reached the lastpage. Then you might want to read it again.

I learned a lot and now am eager to read the other books of Robert T. Kiyosaki.

Little Fockers (2010)

By Ahmed Al Kiremli

Movie Story

The current God Focker, Jack’s father-in-law (Robert DeNiro), tests Jack (Ben Stiller) to see if he’s qualified to be the next God Focker of the family and good enough for his daughter, Jack’s wife.

My Opinion

Well, I always say that whenever you see many good actors in one movie, the movie’s not going to be so good, with few exceptions. There’s really no story at all. They made the movie without a plot. Maybe this was intentional, especially from a production standpoint, because why should they care? At the end of the day, the movie, which is a sequel to a well-known film, makes money for the producers. However, I think the actors should care more about their reputation and quality of work because a couple million in their bank account isn’t going to make that big a difference for them, especially in the long run when their future offers go down. The movie didn’t have more than five scenes that you really laugh about, two of which were amazing. The best thing about the movie was the music: similar to the music of the Godfather movies, but with a humorous touch. It’s a fun movie and OK to watch. You won’t feel like you’ve wasted your money, but at the same time, you won’t feel like you’ve watched a good comedy movie.

Batman Car In Dubai

While walking in the Dubai Mall, heading for lunch, my eyes saw something unique standing in the middle of the mall. It made my head turn immediately to see that amazing object! After adjusting my focus, I realized that I was standing in front of the car that appeared in Tim Burton’s 1989 film classic Batman. Behind the car in a glass box, you can see the engine. The construction of the car took three years and cost over a million dollars.

Now the Batman car is owned by the Emarati collector Ahmed Al Attar. The car is just amazing and I took pictures that you can see below.

Fair Game (2010)

Movie Story

Valerie Plame leads an investigation into the existence of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Valerie’s husband, diplomat Joe Wilson, is drawn into the investigation to substantiate an alleged sale of enriched uranium from Niger. But the United States administration ignores his report about the weapons and uses the issue to support the call to war on Iraq in 2003. The administration decides to remove Valerie Plame from the case and ignore her recommendations, so she decides to go public in a challenge against the administration.

My Opinion

Based on a true story, the movie is worth watching. It talks about the information conflict between the CIA and the Bush administration before and after the war in Iraq (2003). It’s a political movie and shows the struggle of a secret CIA agent with the administration, her husband, and herself.
The acting of the two main stars (Naomi Watts and Sean Penn) was very good. The casting of the Iraqi characters was quite bad, though, as most of them can’t speak in an Iraqi accent, especially Egyptian actor Khaled Nabawy. Why not use real Iraqi actors? They would cost less and do a better job.
